ABOUT THE COURSE
The Junior Diploma in Law is targeted as a co-curricular programme aimed at youths between the ages of 14 to 17. The programme is designed to introduce our youth to the law by exploring areas of the law that they can see working in their daily lives. By gaining an awareness of what is going around in the world around them, the student will develop a healthier respect for their rights and responsibilities as citizens, students, friends and family members.
WHY STUDY THIS?
In a world where a lot of things can be confusing when growing up, this diploma will provide sound logic to explain why things are the way they are. More importantly, it empowers youth with knowledge of their rights especially at an age where they will step out into their first part-time job, for example. With this knowledge, they will be able to stand up for themselves with the legal know-how at their fingertips.
For the student who has their sights set on the profession, it will serve to nurture their existing interest in the law by allowing them to explore different subject areas at an early stage. This will help the student navigate through the vast ocean of career planning.
The Junior Diploma in Law also serves to encourage critical thinking, comprehension and language skills which are highly examinable areas in schools, by pushing students to think outside the current sphere of information that they are exposed to.
WHAT ARE MY FUTURE STUDY OPTIONS?
Upon successful completion of the Junior Diploma in Law and meeting the entry requirements, students can progress to the Foundation Certificate in Law, which covers in depth the basic principles in areas such as crime and contract.
