CERTIFICATE IN LEGAL STUDIES
ABOUT THE COURSE
The Certificate in Legal Studies is the first stage to a series of law awards by Stansfield Law School. The introductory course is designed to train students to develop a legal mindset and to lay down a foundation for the understanding of key legal concepts. It is also recommended for those who wish to further themselves academically in legal studies.
WHY STUDY THIS?
During your course of study, you will develop the ability to analyse current law and policies, as well as the ability to think critically. Your thinking will be moulded from that of a layman to a lawyer, where you can develop insightful thoughts and distinguish between legal and moral obligations. This will in turn prepare you for further legal studies and increase your employability as it will open many doors for you in a world where knowledge is power.
WHAT ARE MY FUTURE STUDY OPTIONS?
Upon completing this course, the student will be able to pursue the Diploma in Legal Studies awarded by Stansfield Law School.
The Course is conducted over 6 months followed by an exam preparation workshop before final exams.
Full time lessons will be held 5 times a week for a duration of 3 hours and Part time lessons will be held 2 times a week for a duration of 3 hours.

Periodic quizzes and assignments are held to gauge if the learning outcomes are met and to provide feedback to the faculty. Students must attempt the quizzes as it would count towards their final grades.
A final 2 hour written examination for each subject will be held at the end of the course. Each examination will consist of 15 multiple questions, 5 short answer questions and 1 essay.
To be considered for the award, students must attempt and pass every element of the assessment for all four courses.
- 4 ‘O’ Levels or its equivalent
- 18 years as at 1 September in the year of registration
